Giampiero Martuscelli
Senior Structural Engineer - Founder
Giampiero Martuscelli, was awarded a degree in structural engineering at University of Naples Federico II, he then completed in 1985 a Master of Science in Structural Engineering at Columbia University in New York. From 1985 until 1987 he worked as a structural engineer at Weidlinger Associates Consulting Engineers in New York, where he was involved in a variety of projects including the structural design of the American (US) embassy in Damascus (Syria) and in Nicosia (Cyprus), the structural strengthening of the Goldman Sachs building in New York and the design of a high-rise building development in Englewood Cliff, New Jersey.
He has continued his professional career in Italy from 1987, where he founded Interprogetti. He has been the designer of private and public works, among them the Regium Waterfront in Reggio Calabria by Zaha Hadid (in progress 2022), the “Oscar Niemeyer Auditorium” in Ravello, the High Speed Station in Afragola by Zaha Hadid (progetto definitivo with the London based firm AKT), design and seismic assesment of bridges on the Highway A32, the Pozzuoli (NA) harbour expansion, “Lotto Napoli-Cancello” High Speed Railway Napoli- Bari (with Systra and Rocksoil).
He was appointed as site supervisor for several projects such as “Città della Scienza” in Naples, Forteguerriana Library in Pistoia (projects by Pica Ciamarra Associati) and the completion of Naples Business District (on hold). He has been in charge of the technical and administrative commissioning on behalf of several bodies including, Centro Italiano Ricerche Aerospaziali, ENEL, Ente Autonomo Mostra d’Oltremare. Among the structural design awards received is the “INARCH/ANCE prize for the Restoration Project of Augustus Temple in Rione Terra” (Group Coordinated by arch. Marco Dezzi Bardeschi).
Since 1998 he has been a Member of the International Association for Bridge and Structural Engineering. From 2001 until 2010, along with professional activity, he worked as a professor at the University of Naples Federico II, Faculty of Architecture for the following courses: “Testing, control and commissioning of constructions” and “Structural Design”.
